Bellevue, OH – Efficient and effective cyclonic grit separation from the influent wastewater is what the City of Bellevue was aiming to accomplish. With the capability of removing significantly more inorganic material compared to conventional grit removal systems, the Hydro-Grit™ was installed and worked brilliantly within its first 24 hours of operation. We custom designed the Hydro-Grit™ vortex grit separator including grit scour line, dewatering classifier and PLC based control panel to run and monitor the process. Performance data through Fluidyne high-efficiency vortex separators has demonstrated 95% removal of all grit 74 micron and larger.
Given that the influent flow in typical domestic wastewater treatment plants is highly variable, the Hydro-Grit™ system is designed to remove fine grit from very little flow all the way through the peak hydraulic flow in order to provide optimum results.
